uni-VR-sity

A group of research and educational projects aimed at exploring inclusive, effective, and

transformative uses of VR in education, based on a web-based VR framework

Educational VR Framework

Uni-VR-sity is a collection of educational research and development projects at Carleton University’s Interactive Media Group (iMG) and partner organizations/ institutions. The uni-VR-sity group of projects is rooted in our design and development of a multi-platform multi-user web-based VR framework for education called Circles. The uni-VR-sity projects range from VR-based educational modules for specific courses or cultural topics to investigation and demonstration of various technical features in VR systems. While most of these projects are done with the Circles framework, we continuously explore other tools and options, and are open to collaborations beyond our existing projects. For more information, or to connect to our projects or propose new ones, contact our people or email us at info@uni-vr-sity.ca.

Featured Circles

Development

Circles is a WebXR learning framework and research project that explores multi-learner and multi-platform (Desktop, Mobile, and HMD) learning affordances. Circles is open-source and Circles worlds can be hosted by setting up new server or uploading to existing servers, such as uni-vr-sity.ca and circlesxr.com. We are working on various development tools to help new users build their own “circles”. For more information, visit Circles website or GitHub home.
